| last summer and fall we had been looking for a bed for our room and i fell in love with a canopy bed i had seen at pottery barn. but alas pottery barn was quite outside our price range - so we just decided that we would continue looking. well ... ben solved that problem. for christmas (completely unknown to me) he built me a canopy bed (thanks to Mr. Lawrence for letting Ben use his shop!)! yes - built, from scratch! it's so BEAUTIFUL and better than anything I could have imagined and it means so much more than just buying that one at pottery barn would have. over christmas we did most of the staining and such then got pretty busy and were finally able this past weekend to put the finishing touches on it! for my birthday ben let me buy a comfortor set we both had really liked months previously and goes so well with the dark wood of the new bed! we are still working on getting stuff up on the walls and paint and stuff - but i'm happy to have the bed up and our new comforter set! my hubby is the best and knows me so well! it's exactly what i had wanted and it means so much that he built it! here are a few pics ...

| trusting Him to make all things new, to redeem and transform, to renew and restore ... "and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (romans 8:28) "then the world was broken, fallen and battered and scarred/You took the hopeless, the life, wasted, ruined and marred/and made it new
You make all things new/You make all things new/You redeem and You transform/You renew and You restore/You make all things new/You make all things new/and forever we will watch and worship You" (all things new - scc) Lord come do Your work ... it's so desperately needed ... |
